Walk With Tai Po is a not-for-profit community initiative that aims to bring positive energy back to Tai Po through community connection and walking. It is run with the support of St. James' Settlement (聖雅各福群會). By visiting this site or submitting a walk, you agree to these terms.
Taking part is free and voluntary. There is no purchase, entry fee, or prize involved. St. James' Settlement may pause, change, or end the initiative at any time.
Walks are self-directed. St. James' Settlement does not organise, lead, supervise, or accompany any walk you take. You are responsible for your own safety, fitness, route choices, and compliance with traffic rules, park regulations, and any trail or area closures — particularly where conditions in Tai Po are affected by ongoing recovery works. Nothing on this site is safety, medical, or route advice.
By submitting a walk — including your name, route link or recorded route, message, and any photos — you confirm that: it is your own walk and your own content, or you otherwise have the right to share it with us; if a photo shows another identifiable person, you have their permission to share it; and it does not contain anything unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or infringing.
Every submission is reviewed by our team before anything is published. We may edit, decline, or remove any submission at our discretion, without needing to give a reason. Only walks you have chosen to share publicly at submission, and that are subsequently approved, appear on the community map — showing your name, route, date, distance, and message.
You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting it, you grant St. James' Settlement a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and share it, in full or in part, for the purposes of this initiative — on this site, the community map, and related community or promotional materials — for as long as reasonably needed. You can ask us to remove it at any time (see our Privacy notice).
This site and its content — including the community map, routes, and files available on it — are provided for community and informational purposes only, on an "as is" basis, with no warranty as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted under Hong Kong law, St. James' Settlement and its staff, volunteers, and service providers are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from your use of this site, your participation in a walk, or reliance on any content on it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Hong Kong law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Please don't misuse this site — for example, by attempting to access data or accounts that aren't yours, uploading malicious files, or submitting fraudulent entries. We may suspend or block access where we reasonably believe this has happened.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here is always the current one, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
